I'd be interested to see if those numbers were significantly different if you took, say, April and May out of the equation, because I'm with you, Reyes coming into a ballgame always seems to be trouble, especially since he never seems to get the lefty out he is supposed to.

Sometimes it's a walk, he gets yanked, and someone else has to deal with the mess, but it still is a pain.

'Course, Miller hasn't been lights out either this year.

Don't have to worry about it today. Down 4-0 in the fifth with a knuckler on the mound and a get away day? Yeah, that's not a good combo.

[...] has only faced the Cardinals three times, all at Wrigley, and his last start is one he likely wants to forget. Wells features a fastball about half the time, and mixes a slider or changeup in the other half. [...]

I know. I was so miffed at Girardi when I wrote my comment I forgot to mention A-Rod. He could have run for Papi OR hit for Buck, but then Joe might have had to pull out his old catcher mask. Actually, that would have been prettyf cool.

Jeff I gotta admit I was very surprised Girardi left A-Rod on the bench when all was said and done. And by what you said above: even with the 34 man roster, he ran out of players.

Congrats to the NL for lifting their mid-summer exhibition game curse! You also might want to thank Joe Girardi for forgetting the game was supposed to mean something and having no one left in the dugout to a) hit for John Buck and b) run for David Ortiz. Naturally, if the game meant nothing the way it comfortably did for 69 years, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Way to tell the truth! Something is going on with TLR, it's like he is angry so he is taking it out on the fans and the ballclub. Just ridiculous mismanagement of the bullpen -
first time he's suffered two comeback wins leading by 5 in the ninth ever. Guy needs some counseling or something. I'm grateful you were willing to say it. Now if only our so called sports writers at the PD would follow suit. No excuses at all.
